The bridge over Monks Brook and Doncaster Drove. circa 1948. Known locally as Greengrove the track ran from Stoneham
Lane to a farm on land now occupied by Eastleigh Airport, cutting under the main railway line by means of a bridge. Apart
from a new bridge and water splash the drove still exists as far as Southampton Rd and forms part of Eastleigh's Lakeside
Country Park. which was created on land previously used as a nursery for world famous Hilliers Nurseries.
Many thanks to Malcolm Young for the photo.
